The ever growing cruise industry will see 13 new cruise ships entering service. Among them, the postponed Disney Adventure and Four Seasons I, but also Legend of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship and other mega ships like MSC World Asia. The luxury market will also see some interesting vessels coming online like Emerald Kaia, Seven Seas Prestige, Explora II while the world’s expedition fleet will welcome Magellan Discoverer.
Until 2036, over 70 vessels are in the orderbooks, adding around 200,000 berths to the world’s cruise ship fleet. With an estimated 37.7 mio passengers in 2024 and rapidly rising numbers expected in the coming years, cruising is booming like never before.

Four Seasons I, Four Seasons, 20,000GT, 190 passengers, Fincantieri, Italy
The maiden voyage of the Four Seasons I cruise yacht has been postponed and is now planned for March 2026 in the Mediterranean. The vessel was built around “immersive luxury experiences,” Four Seasons’ president and CEO Alejandro Reynal said in a statement. There will be 95 suites, the “crown jewel” of which as the line states will be The Funnel Suite: an expansive, four-story penthouse space, one of the largest suites available on any cruise ship. With its four levels and its huge outdoor terrace, it will offer more than 9,500 square feet of private space for up to six guests. The Funnel Suite will be located on the ship’s highest decks where a traditional funnel would be. The suite’s main design feature is its curved, wraparound glass window that will stretch from floor to ceiling and offer incredible 280-degree views of the sea. This curved glass is true design marvel, according to Four Seasons it is the largest piece of contiguous glass at sea and costs $4.2 million to build and install. The design of her stern and lido deck were inspired by Onassis’ famous yacht Christina O.
Emerald Kaia, Emerald Cruises, 11,000GT, 130 passengers, Halong Yard, Vietnam
Emerald Kaia is designed to accommodate 128 passengers in luxury. 88% of the cabins have a balcony. Key highlights include an expansive Observation Sun Deck, modern wellness areas with a 50% larger (compared to her fleetmates) spa and a swim platform for direct ocean access from the fitness center during “swim-stops”, enhanced marina facilities including a covered lounge and new water features such as an inflatable slide. With a planned debut in April 2026, Emerald Kaia will offer itineraries to the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Aegean, and Seychelles.
Disney Adventure, Disney Cruises, 208,000GT, 6000 passengers, MV Werften, Germany
Initially, the ship was scheduled to begin sailing in late 2025, but the maiden voyage was pushed back to March 2026 to ensure the completion of its extensive “Disneyfication.” Disney Cruise Line’s first ship for the Asian market will bring the characters and stories of Disney, Pixar and Marvel to life through a variety of innovative features and activities She will feature seven themed areas: Disney Imagination Garden, Toy Story Place, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef and Marvel Landing. The latter area will feature three brand new attractions that focus on Marvel heroes. There’s the nearly 820-foot-long Ironcycle Test Run, the longest roller coaster at sea, Pym Quantum Racers and Groot Galaxy Spin, which are inspired by the Marvel Universe. The state-of-the-art Garden Stage will host a variety of shows, including “Remember,” a musical created exclusively for the ship and inspired by Disney-Pixar’s “Wall-E” as well as the show “Disney Seas the Adventure”. Disney Adventure’s restaurants will focus primarily on Asian and international cuisine, ranging from fine dining to quick-service dining options. Guests will be entertained during dinner for example in the Navigator’s Club and Hollywood Spotlight Club, featuring performances by characters such as Mickey and Minnie. There are also two animated restaurants that transform during dinner, including artwork from popular Disney films and lighting effects. Disney Adventure will be able to accommodate up to 6,700 passengers max and will also feature a fitness center, multiple kids’ clubs but also features adults-only bars and lounges, a daycare center, a spa and salon and will offer many other family-friendly amenities.
Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Cruise Line, 156,300GT, 3570 passengers, Fincantieri, Italy
Norwegian Luna is the fourth of six ships in the new Prima-class. The new show, “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton,” is particularly exciting. It combines live performances, impressive choreography, special costumes, and set pieces with archive footage from Elton John’s career. The Mandara Spa and Pulse Fitness Center have been completely renovated, featuring a clay sauna, thalassotherapy loungers, and modern fitness facilities, including a spin studio. Tee Time minigolf (now larger with 12 holes across two decks) and a dedicated pickleball court are returning for additional onboard sports activities. Norwegian Cruise Line introduced the Game Zone on Norwegian Aqua and now also on Norwegian Luna, featuring VR adventures and classic arcade games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. At the Bull’s Eye Bar you can play an interactive dart game.

The Legend of the Seas is the third Icon class cruise ship of Royal Caribbean Int. and at 250,800 gross tons, Legend of the Seas and sister ship Star of the Seas will be the largest cruiseships in the world, both are slightly larger than the first ship in the Icon-class, Icon of the SeaS. She will offer entertainment for the whole family, spread across four exciting themed areas each having their own breathtaking live shows. The ship features a “Splash Away Bay” and also a “Category 6” water park with a total of six slides, including a free-fall slide. The water park is one of the largest at sea. This Icon class ship is also suitable for adventurous guests, as they can reach spectacular heights with the “Crown’s Edge”, a skywalk with cable car or the “Adrenaline Peak”, a climbing experience that leads to the highest viewpoint on the entire ship. But three of the seven swimming pools on board provide a calm and relaxing atmosphere. In addition to “Cloud 17” and the pool bar “Swim & Tonic”, where you can sit comfortably in the water at the bar and enjoy a drink, “The Hideaway” is the place where guests find absolute relaxation as this infinity pool features calm background music. Mein Schiff Flow will be the nineth ship in the TUI Cruises fleet and a sister ship to Mein Schiff Relax. She is the second ship of the first of the new InTUItion-class. TUI Cruises state these vessels offers ‘a new experience of well-being’. For the first time, the company will focus more on international guests with these ships. The design isn’t just about looks; it’s about circulation. By raising the pool by one deck and utilizing escalators in the boarding areas, the ship minimizes bottlenecks, ensuring that your physical movement through the 18 decks feels as effortless as the “Flow” name suggests. On the Mein Schiff Flow, the “Flow”- design is a central philosophy intended to create a seamless, airy, and light-filled environment that encourages guests to “go with the flow.” The ships of the new InTUItion-class will be very innovative in the field of sustainability. Dual-fuel engines for these new ships will be used, in addition to marine diesel, these can also run on liquid gas – also on low-emission and climate-friendly bio- and E-LNG which will offer the greatest possible flexibility which in the future, being an important development towards climate-neutral cruises.

This is the first-ever “cruise yacht” from the legendary Orient Express brand (owned by Accor). It is designed to bring the ultra-luxury, Art Deco spirit of the famous train to the high seas. She is the world’s largest sailing yacht, at 220 meters (722 feet) long, she features three massive 100-meter-high masts using “SolidSail” technology. Corinthian can run 100% on wind power in optimal conditions, supplemented by hybrid LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) engines. Intimate Luxury will be assure as despite its massive size, she carries just 108 guests in 54 large suites. The smallest suite is roughly the size of a penthouse on many other ships. Culinary delights are provided by the multiple Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, who oversees various restaurants, lounges and bars, including an elegant Art Deco-style speakeasy bar. Entertainment options include a 115-seat cabaret, a state-of-the-art recording studio, two swimming pools and a private marina.

The third vessel of MSC’s new luxury brand, Explora Journeys, Explora III will arrive in the summer of 2026. Positioned in the luxury segment, this new brand emphasizes that Explora III sails on journeys, not cruises. Exotic destinations, great service and enrichment are key words in Explora Journey’s philosophy. Her 461 suites are quite large, starting from 380 sq ft. 82 of these have interconnecting doors. All suites have floor to ceiling glass and of course a private verandah. On deck there will be 64 cabanas lining three pools. Her fourth pool will feature a magrodome, a retractable roof which can close off the pool in inclement weather. Guests can completely relax in her incredible 700 square meter welness area. According to the line, there will be nine dining venues, or “dining experiences” as they are called. Built in storage for batteries make it possible to make her a hybrid vessel and state of the art technology will reduce CO2 with 90%.

MSC World Asia is the third new cruise ship in MSC Cruises’ World class. The name isn’t related to the ship’s location, as it will cruise in the Mediterranean. This ship, too, will be powered by LNG. She will have 2,760 staterooms. MSC World Asia is designed with a nod to the rich culture, art, and nature of Asia. Like her sisters, she will retain the iconic straight bow rising powerfully from the water and the stern with its immense outdoor promenade and backwards leaning superstructure, all recognizable design elements of MSC’s World class ships. A particularly exciting feature is the introduction of the Cliffhanger, an exhilarating over-water swing ride sending guests over 50 metres above the ocean, which first debuted on sister ship MSC World America. A ne venue, The Clubhouse, an exciting space where families come together for high-energy fun and creative play is introduced. The Luna Park area was completely redesigned.

The Magellan Discoverer is a new, state-of-the-art hybrid-electric expedition ship owned by Antarctica21. It is currently under construction at the ASENAV shipyard in Chile and is scheduled to make its debut for the 2026–2027 Antarctic season. She is a sister ship to the popular Magellan Explorer and will be operated on “Air-Cruises,” where passengers fly over the Drake Passage to join the ship in Antarctica, bypassing the notoriously rough seas. Magellan Discoverer is equipped with a unique wet and dry science lab for “Citizen Science” projects and a fleet of 10 Zodiacs for quick off-ship excursions. In the single-seating main dining room Chilean-inspired cuisine and premium wines are served. There is also a protected outdoor BBQ area for al fresco dining in the Antarctic air.

The Seven Seas Prestige (77,000 tons, 257 meters) will be delivered in late 2026 as the first ship in Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new Prestige class. Built by Fincantieri, the ship is 40% larger than previous Regent ships but carries only 10% more guests, ensuring exceptional space and personalized service.
